Diptyque Perfumes Draw Inspiration from Sublime Childhood Memories?

Over five odd decades, legendary French perfumer Diptyque has been making fragrant scents that are recreated from the exotic travel memories and childhood reminiscences. Diptyque began as fabric and wallpaper design studio, but steadily it graduated into making scented candles and later perfumes.

Diptyque story began in the year 1961 at the 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, where a trio of friends – painter Desmond Knox-Leet, interior decorator Christiane Gautrot and theatre administrator and set designer Yves Coueslant, driven with the same objective got together.

Fragrances from the legendary French perfumer bear naturalness and simplicity

It was in 1968 when Diptyque introduced the L’Eaux – their first perfume. It was a picture perfect start for an extensive repertoire of perfumes that would follow. Each perfume ever made by Diptyque exhibits the innocence of childhood with a subtle blend of fragrance gathered from all parts of the world. All Diptyque fragrances take the user on an endless journey of cultures, places and their aroma.

Diptyque perfumes feature engraved iconic black lettering 34 boulevards Saint-Germain on their oval label, which are a sign of their genuineness and purity.

Far reach
In addition to scented candles and a long list of perfumes, Diptyque also creates room fresheners and fragrances for homes. The perfumer has an incredible repertoire of home fragrances in its kitty, which have become a part of thousands of lives over the years.
France-based perfumer currently has stores in Paris, Dubai, New York, London, Doha, San Francisco, Chicago and Hong Kong. In 2005 Diptyque was bought by London based Manzanita Capital.
